We are seeking a reliable and experienced Material Handler to join our busy warehouse in Los Angeles, California. This role is fundamental to our logistics operations, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods throughout the facility. You will be responsible for tasks such as loading and unloading trucks, operating material handling equipment, and maintaining organized storage areas. A strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and physical capability is required. Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and shipping containers.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and other powered industrial trucks safely and efficiently.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and packed items within the warehouse.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated storage areas.
- Conduct regular checks on equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with receiving and shipping processes as needed.
- Identify and report any damaged goods or safety hazards.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Follow established logistics procedures for material handling and flow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse/logistics role.
- Valid forklift operator certification is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, typically up to 50-60 pounds, on a regular basis.
- Proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Demonstrated commitment to wearing appropriate PPE at all times.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended shifts.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
