We are looking for a reliable Material Handler to join our logistics team in San Jose, California. This role is fundamental to the efficient operation of our distribution center, focusing on the safe and effective movement of materials. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, and preparing materials for internal and external distribution. This includes operating equipment such as pallet jacks and potentially forklifts (if certified), and ensuring that all materials are handled according to safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in a warehouse environment, a strong understanding of material flow, and a commitment to workplace safety. We provide all necessary PPE and enforce strict safety protocols. This position demands physical stamina, involving regular lifting, pushing, and pulling of materials, and a thorough knowledge of safe lifting techniques is essential. Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas using appropriate equipment.
- Organize and maintain inventory in an orderly manner.
- Prepare materials for shipment or further processing.
- Conduct routine checks of equipment and work areas for safety compliance.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE and safe lifting practices.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth logistics flow.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment.
- Capability for frequent and substantial lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Good physical condition and stamina.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
