Our busy logistics hub is searching for a skilled individual to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment efficiently and safely. As a Forklift Operator, you will play a vital role in moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe and timely movement of goods within the warehouse, contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations. This role demands precision, an understanding of warehouse layouts, and a strict adherence to safety regulations. You will be responsible for performing pre-operation inspections on your equipment, maintaining a safe work area, and properly stacking and storing materials. We prioritize the well-being of our employees, mandating the use of appropriate PPE and continuous safety training. The ability to perform substantial lifting, often in conjunction with operating machinery, is a key requirement. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks on forklift equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Load and unload trucks and containers accurately and safely.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and equipment throughout the warehouse.
- Stack and arrange merchandise in designated areas, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with inventory control, cycle counts, and stock checks.
- Operate other material handling equipment as needed.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with valid certification(s).
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and safety procedures.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual dexterity.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and the use of PPE.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
