Join our bustling warehouse in Grand Rapids, Michigan, as a Picker/Packer. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in ensuring our customers receive their orders accurately and on time. Your main duties will involve accurately selecting items from warehouse shelves based on order tickets and then carefully packing these items for shipment. This position requires a keen eye for detail, efficiency, and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of quality in your work. You'll be working with a variety of products, contributing directly to the success of our logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret order forms to accurately pick items.
- Use scanning equipment to track inventory and confirm selections.
- Locate products on shelves and in designated storage areas.
- Efficiently pack items into appropriate boxes or containers, using correct packing materials.
- Ensure all items are packed securely to prevent damage during transit.
- Apply shipping labels and prepare packages for dispatch.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as stock rotation.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures within the warehouse environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience as a picker, packer, or in a similar warehouse role is beneficial.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 30-40 lbs frequently.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
