Join our dynamic team as a Material Handler in Houston, Texas! This role is essential for the smooth flow of materials within our facility, directly supporting our logistics and operational efficiency. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting inventory. You will operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts (certification preferred), to transport goods throughout the warehouse. Accuracy, efficiency, and a strong commitment to safety are paramount in this position. You will play a key part in ensuring that materials are organized, accessible, and safely stored. Adherence to all company safety policies and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE ) is mandatory. This physically demanding role requires regular standing, walking, bending, and the ability to perform significant lifting of items weighing up to 50 lbs. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from various warehouse locations.
- Stock and retrieve inventory as directed.
- Perform inventory counts and assist with reconciliation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Properly use all required PPE .
- Assist in maintaining the flow of goods for optimal logistics .
- Report any equipment issues or safety hazards promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and basic logistics .
- Strong understanding of and commitment to workplace safety .
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to wear and use all designated PPE .
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
