We are looking for an efficient and accurate Picker/Packer to join our warehouse team in Detroit, Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately picking items for customer orders and then carefully packing them for shipment. Your speed and precision are vital to meeting customer expectations and ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics department. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from warehouse shelves according to customer orders or pick lists.
- Verify picked items for accuracy before packing.
- Pack items securely and efficiently, selecting appropriate packaging materials to prevent damage during transit.
- Label packages correctly for shipment.
- Stage packed orders for shipping carriers.
- Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in picking and packing areas.
- Meet established productivity and accuracy goals for picking and packing.
- Adhere to all company safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed to support overall logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a picker, packer, or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret order forms and product labels.
- Proficiency in using RF scanners is a plus.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and general logistics.
- Willingness to wear required PPE.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment.
