We are looking for a diligent and physically capable Material Handler to support our warehouse operations in Kansas City, Missouri. This role involves the manual movement of materials, loading and unloading goods, and assisting with various warehouse tasks to ensure the smooth flow of our logistics chain. You will work closely with forklift operators and other warehouse staff to maintain efficiency and order. A strong work ethic, ability to perform physical tasks, and a commitment to safety are essential requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, and warehouse storage areas.
- Move materials manually or using equipment like pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Sort and organize incoming and outgoing materials.
- Assist forklift operators with positioning and retrieving materials.
- Pack and unpack goods as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or safety hazards.
- Perform inventory checks and assist with cycle counts.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics process.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, construction, or manual labor role is preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent lifting, carrying, bending, and squatting.
- Capacity to lift and move items weighing up to 60 lbs consistently.
- Understanding of safe material handling techniques.
- Familiarity with general logistics operations.
- Willingness to wear required PPE and follow safety protocols.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
