Join our thriving logistics operation as a Receiving Clerk in Indianapolis, Indiana! We are looking for an organized and proactive individual to manage the incoming flow of goods into our distribution center. This role is fundamental to maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring that all deliveries are processed efficiently and correctly. You will be responsible for unloading incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, inspecting goods for damage, and properly logging all received items into our inventory system. A strong focus on safety and accuracy is paramount. This position offers a stable work schedule and competitive compensation, along with opportunities to learn and grow within the logistics field. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect products for any damages or defects.
- Accurately record received items in the inventory management system.
- Stage received goods for put-away.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely (certification may be required).
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding discrepancies.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and audits.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving or warehouse operations is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and data entry skills.
- Familiarity with inventory management software.
- Proficiency in operating warehouse equipment.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to workplace regulations.
