Hotel Front Desk Agent — Big Bear Lake (In-Person)
Pay: $17.00–$20.00 per hour
Job Types: Full-time or Part-time
Location: In person — Big Bear Lake, CA 92315
Schedule: Variable shifts; includes nights/weekends/holidays as needed
About the role
Be the welcoming face of our hotel. You'll handle check-ins/outs, reservations, guest inquiries, and daily front desk operations to ensure a smooth, positive stay.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests and manage check-in/check-out using hotel software
- Answer phones, manage reservations, and provide local information
- Resolve guest concerns with professionalism and urgency
- Process payments, invoicing, and end-of-day reports
- Maintain lobby/front desk presentation and brand-standard appearance
- Night Auditor duties as scheduled (reconcile transactions, reports)
- Assist with laundry (wash/dry/fold/stock) as needed
- Follow company policies, safety, and security procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (hospitality experience preferred)
- Customer-service mindset; clear verbal & written communication
- Basic computer skills (reservation systems, POS, email)
- Organized, calm under pressure; strong attention to detail
- Physically able to stand/walk for extended periods
- Able to work nights/weekends/holidays as scheduled.
Duties
- Greet guests upon arrival and assist with check-in and check-out procedures.
- Manage reservations, including modifications and cancellations, using a multi-line phone system.
- Conduct night audits to ensure accuracy of financial transactions and prepare reports for management.
- Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly, providing solutions to enhance their stay.
- Maintain the front desk area, ensuring it is clean and organized at all times.
- Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Provide information about local attractions, services, and hotel amenities.
- Uphold confidentiality of guest information while managing guest relations effectively.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality management or hotel operations is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable to cater to diverse clientele.
- Familiarity with front desk operations, including night audit processes.
- Excellent phone etiquette and proficiency in handling multi-line phone systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing reservations and guest requests.
