Position: Center Manager – The UPS Store
The UPS Store Center Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations, leading a team, and driving in-store sales through proactive customer engagement. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience in sales management, team coaching, and customer relationship-building.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, takes ownership of results, and is passionate about growing revenue by training and motivating their team to upsell, cross-sell, and deliver exceptional service.
Work Schedule
This is primarily a weekday position. However, the Center Manager must be flexible and willing to work weekends when business needs require coverage, team support, or operational oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Customer Engagement
- Lead by example in engaging customers with open-ended questions to uncover additional service needs
- Coach team on upselling and cross-selling techniques to drive incremental revenue
- Build repeat customer relationships by delivering personalized experiences
Team Training & Leadership
- Conduct regular team huddles and 1-on-1 coaching sessions to develop staff
- Set weekly sales goals and performance benchmarks
- Recruit, train, and retain top talent
Operational Oversight
- Manage scheduling, payroll, and store staffing
- Ensure high standards for cleanliness, organization, and compliance
- Oversee inventory management and vendor relationships
Financial Performance
- Analyze reports and implement strategies to hit profitability targets
- Provide weekly/monthly reporting to ownership on sales, service, and operational KPIs
- Identify new local business opportunities to grow store revenue
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of store or team management experience, ideally in a sales-driven retail or service environment
- Demonstrated experience in training, coaching, or mentoring staff
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset
- Proven ability to drive results through upselling/cross-selling strategies
- Tech-savvy with knowledge of Microsoft Office; Adobe knowledge a plus
- High standards for professionalism, accountability, and leadership
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $ $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
