Job Description

We are looking for a Databricks Enterprise Solution Architect will play a pivotal role in CAI's internal technology team. Partnering across the enterprise, this role will be pivotal in ensuring the success of large-scale technology implementations, supporting CAI's future growth. The Enterprise Solution Architect will have regular exposure and interactions with CAI's executive team and must be comfortable managing multiple priorities. CAI has a diverse technology stack inclusive of key platforms with global requirements. This role requires a deep technical background and the ability to align data architecture strategies with business needs. This position will be full-time and remote.

What You'll Do

Understand and transform business requirements into scalable/manageable solution architecture and design specifications

Design and architect the Databricks Lakehouse solution, including medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold layers) and data governance frameworks

Define data models, schema design, and data flow patterns that support both operational reporting and analytics use cases

Interface with stakeholders to ensure business needs are delivered in accordance with strategic direction, project expectations, and business priority

Establish data quality standards, lineage tracking, and metadata management approaches

Design security and access control models aligned with enterprise requirements

Establish coding standards, architectural guidelines, and best practices for the team

Conduct code reviews and architectural reviews to ensure quality and consistency

Create a learning culture and support professional development

Foster collaboration between data, analytics, and business stakeholders

Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical business leaders

Champion the adoption of reusable architecture patterns to create a high degree of solution agility

Provide guidance and direction to IT teams on technology standards and best practices

Ensure solutions are aligned with the enterprise architecture and IT strategy

Conduct risk assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies

Supervisory responsibilities include developing a high performing team, establishing norms, processes, and performance management

What You'll Need

Required:
A Bachelor's or post-graduate degree in IT, computer science, software engineering, or equivalent

5+ years experience building data platforms on Lakehouse architectures

7+ years of experience designing enterprise data platforms

Proven expertise designing medallion/layered architectures (bronze/silver/gold)

Experience with dimensional modeling for analytics (star schemas, fact/dimension tables)

Understanding of ETL/ELT patterns and data pipeline design

Knowledge of data quality frameworks and data lineage/lineage tracking

Proven experience with cloud data platforms and infrastructure

Knowledgeable about all phases of the software development life cycle and solution delivery for web, client-server, and cloud-based systems

Proven track record of work experience as an architect, project manager, or developer

Preferred:
Experience with query optimization for analytical workloads

Certification in Databricks, cloud platforms, or data architecture

Experience with data governance tools and frameworks (data catalogs, data quality, lineage)

Familiarity with modern DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code

Experience with real-time or streaming data platforms

Background in SQL and/or Python

Experience with change management or organizational transformation programs

Physical Demands

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions

Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

$162,000 - $190,000

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement
