Key Responsibilities:

Preconstruction Phase

  • Partner with internal estimating, planning, and design teams to review MEP documents for constructability, coordination requirements, and value-engineering opportunities.
  • Participate in trade partner evaluations, scope definition, bid reviews, and early logistics planning.
  • Support development of baseline schedules, sequencing strategies, and site phasing plans.

Construction Phase

  • Lead and coordinate all field MEP activities, ensuring work aligns with project schedule, quality expectations, and budget.
  • Conduct regular site walks and facilitate coordination meetings with trade partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Enforce safety standards, site logistics plans, and adherence to contract documents.
  • Identify field issues early and drive resolution across trades to mitigate schedule or cost impacts.
  • Work closely with coordination/VDC teams and commissioning groups to validate installation sequencing and system performance.

Closeout & Commissioning Phase

  • Oversee MEP equipment start-up, testing, and commissioning in collaboration with ownership teams, consultants, and trade partners.
  • Ensure accurate completion of turnover materials, including as-builts, O&M documentation, and training deliverables.
  • Support punch list completion, final inspections, and readiness for occupancy.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience managing MEP construction in the field on large commercial or industrial projects, with at least 3 years in mission-critical or data center environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee full project lifecycle from preconstruction through commissioning.
  • Familiarity with Southeast U.S. construction practices, labor resources, and applicable codes.
  • Strong technical understanding of major building and infrastructure systems including electrical distribution, chilled water systems, fuel systems, BAS/BMS, fire alarm, and air-handling equipment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, scheduling, and conflict-resolution capabilities.
  • Proficiency with construction software such as Procore, BIM 360, Bluebeam, P6, and standard office applications.
  • OSHA 30 certification required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience acceptable.
