Assistant Preschool Director

Leap Ahead Preschool is a small, play-based early learning center in Boise. We are family-owned, and the owner/director is active daily in the preschool classroom, leading 16–20 children. This role supports the owner as the lead teacher and helps manage the classroom, curriculum, and day-to-day operations.

About the Role

• Hands-on leadership and teaching in the preschool classroom 80–90% of the time
• Assist the owner with circle time, curriculum prep, and classroom management
• Step in as lead teacher when the owner is out of town
• Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization throughout the day
• Support outdoor play and ensure high-quality care at all times

Physical Requirements

• This is an active role requiring standing, moving, and being on your feet for 8+ hours/day
• Heavy involvement in cleaning, organizing, and maintaining classroom routines

Pay & Incentives

• $18–$20/hour to start, before bonuses
• Performance-based bonuses for attendance, leadership, classroom management, and organization

Requirements

• 5+ years in a licensed early childhood setting preferred
• Current CPR & First Aid certification
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
• Must meet strict attendance expectations—reliable presence is essential for classroom safety and legal ratios. First 30 days will demonstrate ability to manage the classroom independently.

This role is fast-paced, physically demanding, and requires someone who can lead, stay on their feet all day, and keep the classroom clean and organized while prioritizing the children's safety and learning.
