Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
• Follow recipes and instructions from chefs to ensure consistency and quality in food preparation.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety standards.
• Help with menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other food preparation tools.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during meal periods.
• Support the dietary department by preparing meals that meet specific dietary needs when required.

Skills

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred.
• Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on food preparation techniques.
• Knowledge of menu planning and ability to follow recipes accurately.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen.
• Excellent knife skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• A team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn new techniques and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
