Craft Academy Student Services at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as a Coordinator, Student Organizations & Programming. The anticipated start date is January 5, 2025.
Morehead State University is located in Morehead, KY, a designated Kentucky Trail Town, nestled in the Daniel Boone National Forest, in close proximity to Cave Run Lake. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Coordinator, Student Organizations & Programming is responsible for the administration, training, assessment and implementation of a comprehensive programming model which promotes the education, development and success of Craft Academy students, student leaders and all Craft Academy Registered Student Organizations (RSOs). This position is dedicated to the development of a cohesive program to strengthen and expand RSOs and the student body through close collaboration with the University community and departments, fellow student organizations and the Morehead community. Frequent travel, along with night and weekend activities in support of RSOs is common.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, writing, and computer skills. Knowledge of trends in K-12. Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative work environments and manage multiple tasks. Experience with student organizations or leadership development. Prior participation in an undergraduate student organization in a leadership position. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with students, staff, faculty and community members, often in the evenings and weekends.
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS: Preferred candidates will possess a minimum of 1-year full-time professional experience in a residential college setting that includes managerial experience, program and event planning, and advising student organizations. Master's degree in higher education, college student personnel or related field. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service and strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to speak confidently in public settings. A high level of social perceptiveness is essential, along with the ability to identify problems, plan and implement effective solutions, and organize information efficiently. The role requires sound judgement, critical thinking, and an active learning approach to stay current with evolving needs. Creativity in idea generation, strong troubleshooting abilities, and forward-thinking visioning are also important. The candidate should demonstrate negotiation skills, the ability to instruct and train others, and proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Colleague.

Organizational Relationships
The Coordinator, Student Organizations & Programming reports directly to the Director of the Craft Academy and works closely with the Student Activities and Events Coordinator. This position requires frequent interaction with students, faculty, staff, community partners as well as the general public.

Regular office hours as determined by University policy, and frequent weekend and evening hours.
Work in an active environment with a high volume of interaction with students, faculty, staff and guests of the university.
Both office/indoor environment where employees are protected from weather conditions or contaminants, but not necessarily occasional temperature changes and occasional outdoor environment where employees may not be protected from weather conditions (including weather-related heat and cold, rain, wind, etc.).
