OpenStack Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled VMWare Migration Architect with deep expertise in VMware and OpenStack to lead our migration initiatives. This role will focus on designing and architecting solutions for migrating workloads from VMware to OpenStack using tools such as Hystax Live Cloud Migration, Coriolis, or similar solutions. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering teams, stakeholders, and customers to ensure a seamless and optimized migration strategy.

Your future duties and responsibilities
• Solution Design & Architecture: Develop high-level and detailed architecture for migrating virtualized workloads from VMware to OpenStack.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and best practices for migration, performance optimization, and cost efficiency.
• Tool Evaluation & Implementation: Assess and recommend migration tools such as Hystax Live Cloud Migration, Coriolis, and similar alternatives (e.g., CloudEndure, Velostrata, Morpheus Data, or Zerto).
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with cloud engineers, operations teams, and business leaders to ensure a successful migration strategy.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure all migrations comply with security policies and regulatory standards.
• Troubleshooting & Optimization: Identify risks, resolve migration issues, and optimize cloud environments for performance.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, virtualization, or infrastructure design.
• Expertise in VMware vSphere, ESXi, NSX, vRealize, and OpenStack (Keystone, Nova, Neutron, Cinder, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with migration tools such as Hystax, Coriolis, CloudEndure, Velostrata, Morpheus Data, or Zerto.
• Strong understanding of networking, storage, security, and automation in OpenStack environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools).
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Shell, or PowerCLI.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• OpenStack or VMware certifications are a plus (e.g., Certified OpenStack Administrator, VCP-DCV, or similar).
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95,000 - $145,000. This role is a Future vacancy.
