Job Description: Medication Technician - Assisted Living
Reports To: Assisted Living Supervisor or Resident Care Coordinator
Location: Arizona
Job Type: Full-time, On-site

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Caregiver /Medication Technician (Med Tech) to join our team in an assisted living community in Arizona. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for providing high-quality care in a supportive and respectful environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance and Documentation:

    • Ensure that medication administration complies with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all medications, treatment plans, and related activities, following all legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Assist with preparing for and responding to audits or inspections by regulatory agencies, ensuring full compliance with all safety and medication handling procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Certification:

    • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
    • CPR and First Aid certification (required).
    • Current Certified Arizona Caregiver Certification issued from the AZ Board of nursing (required).
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Caregiver / Medication Technician, preferably in an assisted living or long-term care environment.
    • Experience with medication administration, resident care, documentation, and regulatory compliance in a healthcare setting.
    • Knowledge of Arizona's assisted living regulations and best practices for medication management and care.
  • Skills and Abilities:

    • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
    • Compassionate and patient, with a dedication to providing quality care for residents.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • This position involves working in a residential assisted living facility, with regular interaction with residents and staff.
  • Physical tasks may include bending, lifting, and assisting residents with mobility as needed.
  • The position may require occasional evening, weekend, or holiday shifts to ensure the facility is properly staffed and residents' medication needs are met.
