Reporting to the Director and Title IX Coordinator of the Office of Civil Rights and Sexual Misconduct (OCRSM), the Intake and Support Manager will conduct prompt and caring outreach, intake, and initial assessment into reports of discrimination and harassment, including sexual misconduct, and implement supportive measures.
The Intake, Outreach, and Support Manager is responsible for the following:
(1.) Respond to reports of discrimination and harassment, including sexual misconduct, made to OCRSM and conduct prompt and caring outreach, provide assistance with supportive measures, and carry out follow-up communication;
(2.) Conduct preliminary information gathering during intake meetings for initial assessment of allegations of prohibited conduct and share options and appropriate safety, academic, and other supportive measures in accordance with the University's sexual harassment and/or non-discrimination policies and procedures;
(3.) Interpret and advise individuals on the University's sexual harassment and/or non-discrimination policies and procedures;
(4.) Refer parties to appropriate on- and off-campus resources and collaborate with campus partners to implement and monitor ongoing supportive measures;
(5.) Propose and implement safety, academic, and other supportive measures in consultation with the Director and Title IX Coordinator and monitor those ongoing supportive measures;
(6.) Create new cases, prepare and maintain documentation, upload evidence, and input all data related to new reports, intake, response, and resolution of formal complaints in the report tracker and case management system;
(7). Manage and monitor discrimination and harassment, including sexual misconduct, data to assist the Director and Title IX Coordinator in identifying and addressing systemic patterns of discrimination and harassment, including sexual misconduct;
(8.) Participate in weekly case management meetings with OCRSM staff and campus partners to monitor the response and resolution of discrimination and harassment, including sexual misconduct, reports and formal complaints;
(9.) Assist in occasional training and outreach activities in collaboration with the OCRSM team to share information about the University's sexual harassment and/or non-discrimination policies, procedures, supportive measures, and campus resources;
(10.) Provide investigation support to OCRSM investigators by serving as a secondary notetaker, when needed; and
(11.) Collaborate with the Director and OCRSM staff to prepare comprehensive reports and documentation related to OCRSM data and support services provided.
Physical Demands:
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment. Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends, as necessary. Will require occasional travel to campus meetings or events and ability to transport supplies and meeting materials.Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Two (2) years of professional experience in human resources, student conduct, compliance, or investigations. One (1) year leading or supervising professional staff.
Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of human resources policies and procedures, and federal, state, and other applicable human resources related laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances.
Knowledge of University ethics and compliance policies, procedures, and programs.
Knowledge of complexities in assessing discrimination and sexual misconduct complaints.
Knowledge of socioeconomic and organizational issues underlying and resulting from sexual harassment, discrimination, and sexual violence.
Skill in oral and written communication, with the ability to handle difficult situations diplomatically and present information in a clear and concise manner .
Skill working in an environment of strict confidentiality with sensitive information, materials and/or client interactions.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google products.
Skill exercising independent judgment and discretion when dealing with sensitive matters or individuals in distress.
Skill in maintaining detailed and accurate documentation.
Ability to work under deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Ability to use case management software.
Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws related to discrimination and harassment, including sexual misconduct.
Ability to analyze situations and determine the best recourse for response.
Preferences:
Master's degree in a related field preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, and a working knowledge of the Clery Act along with the VAWA Amendments to Clery (Campus Save Act).
Four (4) years of professional experience in counseling or interviewing complainants in the areas of sexual misconduct (i.e. sexual assault, sexual and domestic violence, intimate partner violence, sexual harassment, stalking, etc.) and non-discrimination procedures and policies.
Experience working in higher education.
Experience assessing reports of discrimination and harassment, including sexual misconduct.
Experience with Maxient or other case management software.
Experience working with diverse populations, specifically in the context of sexual violence.
Ability to work collaboratively with community partners
Fluency in and/or demonstrated working knowledge of Spanish language.
