We are looking for a reliable and physically fit Material Handler to join our logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa! In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. Your duties will include loading and unloading trucks, stocking shelves, and preparing orders for shipment. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a team. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials and shipments.
- Store inventory in designated areas, ensuring proper organization and stock rotation.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Retrieve and stage materials for shipping or internal transfers.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct cycle counts.
- Keep the warehouse clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards.
- Follow all company safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with loading and unloading of trucks.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve operational goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other relevant warehouse equipment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks, including bending, stooping, and lifting.
- Capable of performing lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Understanding of basic logistics and supply chain principles.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
