Our dynamic logistics facility in Portland, Oregon is looking for a certified Forklift Operator to join our team! In this critical role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials throughout the warehouse. Your expertise in operating forklifts will ensure the smooth flow of goods, supporting our order fulfillment and shipping processes. You will handle loading and unloading trucks, transporting inventory, and maintaining organized storage areas. A strong focus on safety, precision, and operational efficiency is essential for success. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (counterbalance, reach truck, etc.) to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload trailers and containers accurately and safely.
- Transport inventory to and from designated storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts, reporting any issues.
- Maintain organized and efficient storage of goods.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse staff to meet operational goals.
- Participate in safety training and promote a safety-conscious culture.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification from a recognized institution.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Solid understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Ability to read and interpret load charts and equipment manuals.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Physical ability to stand, sit, bend, and climb as required by the role.
- Must be able to perform occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
