About the Role:
The Communications Specialist, Employer Communications plays a key role in strengthening and scaling CAAT Pension Plan's employer communications as onboarding grows in volume and complexity. This role equips employers with clear, segmented, and practical content to help navigate their transition to CAAT, engage employees, and build early trust in the Plan.
Working closely with internal partners, the Communications Specialist turns complex pension information into plain-language, accessible, and easy-to-use content across digital and email channels. This role helps modernize onboarding communications through repeatable templates, customized materials, and improved targeting by employer type, sector, size, and administrative capacity.
As the Newest Member of our Team, You Will:
Quickly assess employer needs and recommend practical communication strategies, asking the right questions and turning insights into actionable plans—all with professionalism.
Transform complex pension details into clear, user-friendly content for emails, toolkits, FAQs, and onboarding materials.
Customize communications for different employer types and sizes, designing content that fits real HR and payroll environments.
Work closely with internal teams to gather input, balance priorities, and align messaging while building trust and momentum.
Guide employers through change with structured communications that reduce uncertainty and build confidence, anticipating employee questions.
Apply brand voice and editorial standards consistently, knowing when to simplify, escalate, or clarify in a regulated setting.
Develop and refine templates and onboarding assets to support scale, reduce rework, and speed up delivery during busy periods.
To Succeed, You Bring:
3–5 years of relevant experience in communications (preferably in employer, B2B, member/customer communications, or regulated environments).
College Diploma or University Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, English, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Demonstrated ability to write and structure content that makes complex topics clear, practical, and engaging for non-expert audiences.
Experience developing content across multiple formats and channels (email, web/portal, newsletters, toolkits, decks, FAQs).
Working knowledge of accessibility and UX-informed writing (clear structure, scannable content, inclusive language).
Experience in pensions, benefits, insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry is an asset.
Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
