About the Role: The Assistant Project Manager at Capozza Floor Covering Center plays a key role in guiding customers through flooring selection while supporting our Project Managers. This position combines consultations, customer service, and project coordination to ensure high-quality results. The Assistant Project Manager works closely with Project Managers, Installers, and clients to deliver a seamless and professional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide customers through tile and flooring options, providing expert advice on product selection, specifications, and performance.
  • Assist walk-in clients, handle returns, and manage front-of-house cash & carry transactions.
  • Ability to develop and present detailed project proposals that align with customer needs, preferences, and budgets.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, installers, and internal staff to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Prepare materials and labor estimates as needed to support Project Managers.
  • Assist Project Manager on post-installation to confirm customer satisfaction and resolve any concerns.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and visually appealing showroom that enhances the shopping experience.
  • Support Project Managers with administrative tasks, including data entry, documentation, and general project coordination.
  • Be present and punctual during all scheduled showroom hours, ensuring a professional and welcoming experience for customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure team success and a seamless customer experience.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in project coordination, construction administration, or related role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive client relationships.
  • Basic understanding of construction or residential flooring processes (preferred but not required)
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to read blueprints and perform basic measurements and calculations.
  • Strong design sense and interest in home finishes.
  • Professional, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively with team members and clients.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Combination of showroom-based work and occasional visits to residential project sites.
  • Occasional lifting of materials and samples up to 25 lbs.
  • Exposure to typical construction or renovation environments when visiting job sites.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and move around office and showroom spaces.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55, $60,000.00 per year
