Service Advisor

Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our automotive repair team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repair services, ensuring a seamless and professional experience. This role requires strong automotive knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage service operations efficiently. Prior dealership experience and familiarity with auto service management are highly valued.

Duties

• Greet customers promptly and professionally, understanding their vehicle concerns and service needs
• Write detailed service estimates using automotive diagnostics, auto estimating, and service writing skills
• Communicate effectively with technicians regarding vehicle repairs, including transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, suspension, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, air brake systems, alignments, and auto body repair
• Upsell additional services and maintenance based on customer needs and vehicle requirements
• Manage vehicle intake and delivery process while maintaining accurate documentation of services performed
• Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions, explaining repairs, and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Coordinate with mechanics and parts department to ensure timely completion of repairs
• Maintain a thorough understanding of automotive repair procedures to assist in explaining technical issues to customers

Requirements

• Proven dealership experience or auto service management background preferred
• Experience with Classic Cars and Paint and Body Quotes is a HUGE plus
• Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures
• Experience with auto estimating, service writing, and upselling techniques
• Familiarity with a wide range of automotive repairs including transmissions, oil changes, brake systems, suspensions, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, alignments, air brakes, and auto body repairs
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
• Mechanical knowledge combined with service technician experience is advantageous
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and scheduling
• Automotive sales experience is a plus but not required
