Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing CNC programs to produce high-precision components. This role requires strong technical skills, a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, and proficiency with various CAD/CAM software. The CNC Programmer will play a critical part in ensuring efficient production workflows and maintaining quality standards across multiple machining operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and write CNC programs for milling machines, lathes, and other machining equipment using CAM software such as Mastercam or CATIA.
  • Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and GD&T specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing processes.
  • Set up and operate CNC machines including CNC lathe and CNC milling machines, ensuring proper tooling and fixtures are used.
  • Perform toolpath verification, simulation, and testing to optimize machining parameters for efficiency and precision.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to troubleshoot machining issues and implement process improvements aligned with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Maintain documentation of programs, tooling setups, and machine calibration records.
  • Conduct inspections using precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and bore gauges to verify part dimensions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean work environment.

Skills

  • Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code; experience with Fanuc controls is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, and general schematics interpretation.
  • Experience with CAM programming for CNC milling machines and CNC lathes.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, electrical discharge machining (EDM), tooling selection, and fixture design.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement tools.
  • Ability to apply math skills related to geometry and measurements in a manufacturing context.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to improve process efficiency.
  • Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic manufacturing setting where technical expertise is valued and professional growth is encouraged.
