Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our veterinary practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and veterinary medicine, with the ability to provide high-quality medical services to a diverse range of animals. This role involves diagnosing, treating, and preventing health issues in pets and other animals, ensuring their well-being and comfort. The Veterinarian will work closely with a team of veterinary professionals to deliver exceptional care in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough examinations and diagnose health conditions in animals using veterinary terminology and clinical skills
- Perform surgical procedures, including animal catheterization and aseptic techniques
- Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments tailored to individual animal needs
- Handle animal restraint and animal handling techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff
- Provide emergency veterinary critical care when necessary
- Assist with pet grooming, pet care advice, and animal husbandry practices
- Maintain detailed medical records and laboratory documentation of procedures and treatments
- Educate pet owners on animal physiology, anatomy, nutrition, and general pet care best practices
- Support laboratory testing procedures and interpret results to aid in diagnosis
- Manage special cases such as equine or exotic animal care if applicable
Experience
- Proven veterinary experience with a focus on critical care is highly desirable
- Strong animal restraint skills and animal handling expertise across various species, including dogs and horses (equine experience preferred)
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and laboratory procedures
- Experience in pet grooming, pet care advice, and basic animal husbandry practices
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques during surgical procedures
- Laboratory experience related to diagnostic testing is an advantage
- Prior experience with animal catheterization and pet grooming is beneficial
