About Us:
McDaniel Family Services a dynamic and growing company seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations for a growing 14-store grocery chain across multiple locations. This role is hands-on and strategic, responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and supporting ownership with accurate, timely financial insights.

The ideal candidate has multi-unit retail or grocery experience, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is comfortable balancing operational details with big-picture financial strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Oversee all accounting functions for 14 store entities and related management companies
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage period-end close (including accruals, prepaid expenses, inventory adjustments, and intercompany entries)
• Ensure accurate store-level P&Ls and consolidated reporting
• Assist ownership with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning

Operational Accounting
