The Data Engineer designs, develops, and maintains the data pipelines, integrations, and infrastructure that power TM Cobb / Haley Brothers' enterprise systems. This role ensures that data flows efficiently, accurately, and securely between platforms such as ERP, CRM, CPQ, and analytics systems.
Working closely with the Data Systems Team, the Data Engineer builds reliable frameworks that support analytics, automation, and AI initiatives — providing the foundation for data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Pay range: $35 - $55 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Architecture & Pipeline Development
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT processes to ensure seamless data movement across business systems.
- Build and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data automation scripts.
- Implement scalable data models and structures to support analytics, reporting, and forecasting.
System Integration & Automation
- Develop and manage API and middleware integrations between ERP, CRM, CPQ, and third-party platforms.
- Automate data workflows and ensure data consistency across systems.
- Collaborate with Software and Data teams to align integration standards and best practices.
Data Quality, Security & Performance
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data pipeline issues to maintain high reliability and system uptime.
- Implement data validation, quality control, and performance tuning strategies.
- Support data governance and security standards for compliance and data protection.
Collaboration & Support
- Partner with Data Scientists and Analysts to provide clean, structured, and accessible datasets.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data processes and documentation.
- Support modernization initiatives including cloud data migration, Power BI integration, and automation with Microsoft tools (e.g., Power Automate, Copilot).
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering or database development.
- Strong SQL and programming skills (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, or similar).
- Familiarity with data pipeline and ETL tools like SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) and Airflow for automating data extraction, transformation, and loading processes
- Experience in ERP or enterprise data environments preferred.
