Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Full Time Caregiver to provide compassionate support and assistance to our residents. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care, home health, or assisted living environments, with a passion for improving the well-being of individuals with diverse needs. This role involves delivering personalized care, ensuring safety, and fostering a warm, respectful atmosphere for residents. The caregiver will play an integral part in promoting independence and dignity while adhering to all safety and health standards.
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor residents' health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining detailed care records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal service while ensuring proper sanitation and food safety standards.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document medication administration as required by healthcare protocols.
- Support residents during social activities and engage them in meaningful interactions to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control protocols are followed.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to develop personalized care plans that address each resident's unique needs.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly desirable.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional training in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, or hospice care is preferred.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and HIPAA compliance.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts safely.
- Strong communication skills with an empathetic approach to working with seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or other special needs populations.
- Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team within a fast-paced environment.
