As a 3D Image Processing Specialist, you will play a critical role in continuing the healing mission of Deaconess.
Job Overview:
Under general supervision of the Radiology Operations Manager and CT Team Leader, manipulates digital medical images in multiple planes and dimensions for clinical visualization and quantitative analysis of diagnostic and interventional studies. Must be well versed in CT and/or MRI scanning technology, and possesses a sound understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy and gross pathology.
- Job Duties:
- Ensures that images requiring post processing or manipulation are networked to appropriate workstations, and processed images are networked to PACS and other viewing or archival systems in a timely manner.
- Works in conjunction with radiologists and other clinicians to ensure that the post processed images are of maximal clinical value.
- Uses the radiology information systems to check patient medical history and update exam status, for tracking and billing purposes.
- Assists in the instruction of physicians and technologists who are learning image post-processing applications.
- Performs CT and/or MRI scanning procedures at an appropriate level of competency.
- Performs IV injections using safe sterile technique.
- Responds to emergency call back if assigned.
- Assists with orientation of new staff and students.
- Keeps area supplied and clean.
- Performs office responsibilities when required.
- Participates in in-services.
- Monitors vital signs as necessary.
- Performs HIS, RIS and PACS functions as necessary.
- Maintains equipment to decrease downtime and overtime expense.
- Participates in performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives.
- Supervision includes technologists in orientation, radiology students when assigned, and diagnostic student aides.
- Other duties as assigned.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Must be licensed by the applicable State Department of Health as a Radiologic Technologist, certified by the ARRT as a Radiologic Technologist, and maintain annual renewal/registration with the certifying organization Required
- Applicable state license ARRT and CPR/BLS certifications with CE credits Required
- If registry eligible by the ARRT, must be certified within 6 months of hire to avoid termination. Required
- Advanced registry in CT is within eighteen (18) months of hire. Required
- License renewal must occur two weeks prior to expiration date. Required
- Revocation or inability to maintain licensure and/or registration may result in termination. Required
