Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Footwear, located in Akron, OH. The individual will be responsible for the development and optimization of mechanical designs, with a focus on incorporating innovative materials and advanced technologies into footwear applications. Daily tasks include researching, designing, and testing prototypes, utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software, managing development projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring concepts to production while maintaining high-performance standards.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Mechanical Engineering principles and Machine Design
  • Strong background in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) for advanced modeling and simulation
  • Experience in Project Management, including planning, execution, and team collaboration
  • Expertise in Research and Development (R&D) with a focus on innovative solutions and materials
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Experience in tire and or industrial design (pneumatic or non-pnuematic), rapid prototyping, manufacturing, or materials engineering is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-disciplinary team with a high degree of mechanical and aerospace engineering with advanced materials
