Equipment Operator

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Asphalt Paving Equipment Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7-10 years of experience operating heavy construction equipment and a strong understanding of paving and concrete work. This position is hands-on and requires an operator who takes pride in producing quality work and can work efficiently as part of a paving team.

Responsibilities

• Operate paving and grading equipment including, but not limited to: Pavers, Rollers, Skid steers, Graders and Loaders
• Perform fine grading for asphalt and base preparation
• Work closely with foreman and crew to ensure proper mat depth, grade, and smoothness
• Assist with asphalt paving operations, including hand work when needed
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
• Follow all safety procedures and job site regulations
• Maintain a clean and organized job site

Requirements

• Minimum 7-10 years of proven experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators and pavers in a construction setting.
• Strong understanding of grades, slopes, and asphalt specifications
• Ability to work long hours during peak paving season
• Reliable transportation to job sites
• Valid driver's license (CDL a plus, but not required)
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• OSHA10 Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with commercial and municipal paving projects
• GPS or laser grading experience
• OSHA 30 certification
• CDL Class A or B

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $31.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
