Job Summary
Wolff Contracting is looking for skilled Journeyman/Journeywoman Carpenter(s) to join our team. Much of our current work is prevailing wage in Vallejo, California doing remodeling, renovating and repairs on a Cal Poly University campus. In this role, you will be responsible for performing journeyman level carpentry work in a timely manner, to specifications.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute project plans.
- Construct, install, repair, and maintain structures such as walls, floors, ceilings, doors, windows, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform framing work including metal stud framing and wood framing for commercial or residential projects.
- Handle trim carpentry tasks such as baseboards, crown molding, cabinetry installation, door hanging, and fixture mounting.
- Assist with concrete forming, rebar installation, masonry work, and roofing tasks as needed on-site.
- Conduct restoration projects including water damage remediation, mold remediation, plastering, stucco application, and siding repairs.
- Measure materials accurately for construction estimating purposes; manage material fabrication and assembly when required.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times while working on construction sites; operate heavy machinery and perform heavy lifting safely.
- Read and follow schematics for electrical wiring, plumbing systems, or metal fabrication projects.
- Support the installation of flooring, tile laying, cabinetry, water damage restoration components, and other finishing touches.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Journeyman/Journeywoman Carpenter with a strong background in construction site work.
- Extensive knowledge of carpentry techniques including framing (metal stud and wood), trim carpentry, roofing, siding, drywall installation, and fixture setup.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, hammers, chisels; power tools including drills, saws, grinders; CNC equipment is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately; experience with construction estimating is advantageous.
- Familiarity with concrete forming processes and rebar installation for structural projects.
- Experience in restoration industry tasks such as mold remediation or water damage restoration is preferred.
- Strong understanding of safety standards related to heavy lifting, scaffolding use, electrical systems, plumbing connections, masonry work and general construction practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in fabrication or remodeling projects.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting; comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces when necessary. Pay: $ $42.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
