Essential responsibilities include:
Ownership Operation constraints:
Supply shipping with IB shipment data relative to cost and placement location
Problem solving capacity constraints and deployment of 5S practices across all operational areas.
Identifying and correcting order entry errors at any stage – before, during, or after updates within the ERP system
Operating warehouse equipment safely and effectively, including but not limited to forklift, side loader, overhead crane, jib crane, and floor scale.
Provide process improvements and continuous improvement ideas to streamline operations and prevent recurring issues.
Drive collaborative communication across departments for timely resolution of issues.
Facilitate ERP system training for shop personnel, focusing on resolving issues and enhancing system proficiency.
Prepare and deliver weekly reports highlighting recurring issues and operational challenges.
Maximize the capacity of the storage tower to utilize floor/rack space.
Order cancellations and modifications
Tag consolidations
Assists in determining and advanced placement of material and packaging for work centers.
Scrap and Lift management
Provides Planning Support
Cross trains in material planning to provide backup.
Handles administrative functions within planning (T.B.D.)
Acts as Liaison between Planning and Operations
Assists with remote stock (Los Angeles) and customer contract shipments.
Operational Support
Gather data for the Gemba boards and responsible for inventory action items associated with the Gemba process
Understand material flow lifecycle to each machine, from order generation to producing and shipping finished goods.
General Stratix support
Product Development: Leads efforts with customers and key suppliers to drive and participate in the development of new products to serve UPM entering and/or expanding our breadth of products for related markets or a customer/OEM supply chain.
Reporting and Communication:
Reports on current and in-process activities
Submits timely sales/product call reports
Participates in weekly sales call-in meetings
Participate in preparation of presentations for sales, management, customers, and suppliers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of key OEM's/customers, products and markets served.
- Proficiency with the Internet and Microsoft applications.
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to author, execute a plan and conduct/facilitate meetings.
- Problem solving skills to develop creative solutions to market requirements and specific customer requirements.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree or a combination of education and experience with at least 5-7 years warehouse experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents in English. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
