Environmental Services Technician
(aka Housekeeper/Laundry Attendant)

Position Summary:
The EVS Technician is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the facility. There are many details to this crucial position, so a detail-oriented person will be very successful. We encourage a family-style environment, where staff are open and spend time getting to know the various needs of our residents. Our Environmental Services Technicians are cross-trained to work in Housekeeping, Personal Clothing Laundry, and Main Laundry. This creates are highly functional team and a great environment to work in.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comes to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality
- Presents at work in a clean, neat uniform and a professional appearance
- Has ability to perform all cleaning procedures in accordance with facility policy and State regulations
- Has ability to follow infection control protocols, and both oral written directions from the EVS Director and other management as necessary
- Interacts in a friendly and cooperative manner with team members, other staff, residents and visitors to our facility
- Follows rules set by EVS Director or other Management Team members, accepting accountability for their work performance
- Has a reliable and constant knowledge of working with hazardous chemicals in the most appropriate and effective manner possible
- Performs the duties of the position in an efficient manner while maintaining a positive attitude and general positive nature towards all residents and other staff and visitors
- Reports all issues with equipment such as failures or breakages to manager immediately
- Reports all issues with regard to inventory shortages or overages to manager immediately
- Follows guidance from the EVS Director, performing duties as assigned
- Completes assigned monthly automated learning in accordance with Homestead Policy
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in healthcare sanitation preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Ability to multitask in regard to job sharing with respect to duties in Housekeeping and Laundry, and meeting customer needs
- Demonstrated initiative and desire to promote a teamwork atmosphere
Work Environment:
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work with hazardous cleaning chemicals using proper protective equipment if needed
- Able to withstand extreme temperatures, hot and cold
- Able to work long hours, including scheduled evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Able to interact positively with all demographics of people
