Systems Administrator

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to manage and maintain our organization's IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our systems, supporting a diverse range of technologies including operating systems, virtualization, databases, and network security. This role requires a strong background in system architecture, solution design, and IT service management to support our enterprise environment effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support server environments across Windows, Linux, VMware ESXi, and Azure platforms.
• Design, implement, and maintain system architecture solutions utilizing cloud services such as AWS and Azure.
• Administer databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server; optimize performance and ensure data integrity.
• Configure and manage network infrastructure components such as DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, and RESTful APIs to ensure secure connectivity.
• Implement virtualization technologies using VMware, Kubernetes, and other container orchestration tools to optimize resource utilization.
• Develop automation scripts using Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell, Python, or Shell Scripting to streamline operations.
• Maintain system security through effective information security practices including firewall management, VPN configuration, and vulnerability assessments.
• Support DevOps practices by managing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Git, and related tools; facilitate system updates following SDLC principles.
• Monitor system performance using tools like Nagios or Zabbix; troubleshoot issues related to system design or infrastructure failures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop service-oriented architecture solutions and microservices frameworks aligned with business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, VMware Certified Professional) are preferred.
• Proven experience in system administration across multiple platforms including Windows Server, Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS), and UNIX environments.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure components such as RAID controllers, SAN storage solutions, load balancing techniques, and network protocols (TCP/IP).
• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies like VMware ESXi and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in scripting languages including Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell, Python; familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins is advantageous.
• Deep understanding of database management systems including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle PL/SQL; experience optimizing database performance is a plus.
• Knowledge of RESTful API development and integration; experience with microservices architecture is desirable.
• Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and agile development processes to facilitate continuous improvement cycles.

Pay: From $50.00 per hour
