À propos

KMM Group propels air, space, and life-saving technologies with mission-critical components.

Location: Hatboro, PA | Employment: Full-Time

A day in your role

You start your morning reviewing overnight inspection data, prioritizing workflows to match production schedules. A quick sync with Engineering, Quality, and Production aligns priorities, then you're programming Zeiss CMMs in Calypso for first article, in-process, and final inspections. As complex geometries roll in, your advanced GD&T knowledge (ASME Y14.5) guides robust strategies to validate form, fit, and function. You double-check critical features using both CNC inspection equipment and manual/hard gauges, and you verify with optical systems such as Keyence or OGP where they add speed and clarity.

Throughout the day, you coach quality techs on measurement principles, mentor operators on inspection methods, and tune programs to remove bottlenecks. You develop risk-based Inspection Plans and Process Control Plans, contribute to PPAPs and process capability studies (SPC, Cpk), and document results using Good Documentation Practices. Your work is grounded in our QMS standards—ISO 13485, AS9100, and 21 CFR Part 820—with full traceability from setup to record retention. When nonconformances surface, you lead investigations and CAPA actions. You also keep metrology systems and gaging calibrated and reliable.

Where you'll innovate
  • Program and optimize Zeiss CMMs with Calypso to elevate accuracy and throughput.
  • Apply advanced GD&T to validate complex, tight-tolerance geometries.
  • Introduce AI-enabled inspection efficiencies through automated data collection and reporting.
  • Standardize methods via SOP creation, internal audits, and continuous QMS improvement.
  • Mentor junior team members to build a deeper metrology bench across shifts.
What you bring
  • 7+ years in quality engineering within regulated industries (medical device or aerospace preferred), with a track record of solving complex inspection challenges.
  • Expertise programming and operating Zeiss Calypso on CMMs.
  • Deep command of GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
  • Experience with optical/vision systems (Keyence, OGP) and hard gauging.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with unwavering data integrity and compliance.
  • Working knowledge of statistical methods including SPC and Cpk, and risk-based inspection.
  • Clear, confident communicator and collaborative partner across functions.
Bonus points
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related.
  • FMEA and PPAP experience; exposure to QMS audits and SOP development.
  • Passion for metrology innovation, inspection automation, and digital documentation tools.
Standards & proficiencies
  • ISO 13485, AS9100, 21 CFR Part 820
  • GD&T, Quality Inspection, PFMEA, SOPs, Tolerance Analysis, PPAP
