Job Summary

The Counseling, Recreation and School Psychology department is currently seeking a Temporary Grant Director to join their team of professionals.

The Grant Coordinator will manage and oversee grant-funded projects, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, and facilitating the recruitment and retention of under-represented students through financial and academic support.

Duties include:

  • Oversee the incoming GAs and ensure their work is completed in time.
  • Track the progress of GAs responsible for Recruiting and Community Outreach.
  • Maintain regular communication with the RSA officer, ORED, and Program Director.
  • Gather materials from G5/G6 for the 5-year cumulative report.
  • Maintain communication with scholars regarding events/meetings.
  • Gather scholar grades and schedules.
  • Pay tuition and stipends in a timely manner.
  • Ensure scholars are on track to graduate and maintain their academic standing.
  • Host scholar meetings, information sessions, and community outreach virtual events.
  • Prepare agendas and estimate costs for upcoming conferences and prepare scholars for attending.
  • Ensure budgets are within their proposed amounts.
  • Work closely alongside the project proposal to ensure all targets are met by the end of the 5 years.
  • Log hours for the FIU system.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and five (5) years of office or related experience providing administrative support, or coordinating functions of an office or department.

  • Experience in higher education grants and compliance requirements
