The Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for supporting and maintaining virtualized and cloud-based environments to ensure stable, secure, and high-performing systems. This remote role involves working with VMs, Linux systems, and Microsoft Azure, as well as performing regular system updates and troubleshooting software or network issues. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional with a solid technical foundation in infrastructure administration and at least two years of relevant experience.

Role Duties:

  • Administer and maintain virtual machine (VM) environments and cloud infrastructure (primarily Microsoft Azure).
  • Perform system updates and maintenance activities (typically twice per year) to ensure stability and compliance.
  • Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and apply proactive solutions to maintain uptime and reliability.
  • Manage Linux-based servers and assist with configuration, patching, and performance optimization.
  • Troubleshoot software, network, and system issues, escalating as necessary to senior engineers or vendors.
  • Collaborate with internal IT and support teams to maintain proper system documentation and incident tracking.
  • Ensure data security, access controls, and proper backup/recovery processes are in place.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of infrastructure processes, automation, and operational best practices.

Education & Requirements:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience as a Systems or Infrastructure Administrator, preferably in cloud or hybrid environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (deployment, monitoring, and configuration).
  • Strong knowledge of Linux administration and command-line operations.
  • Experience with network troubleshooting and configuration (routing, switching, connectivity issues, etc.).
  • Ability to perform basic software troubleshooting and apply patches or configuration changes.
  • Understanding of virtualization platforms and related technologies.
  • Basic English communication skills (reading and writing technical documentation).

Plus:

  • Familiarity with Windows Server environments or Active Directory.
  • Exposure to monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Nagios, Zabbix, or similar).
