Job Summary:
Works directly for and assists the Executive Director with dual responsibilities in investigation and licensing and regulation of occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, and athletic trainers under the Occupational Therapy Examiners Board's and the Athletic Training Board's direction.
The role involves overseeing the licensing and regulatory processes, including investigating complaints and potential violations. Duties include collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses and involved parties, preparing detailed reports and correspondence, and summarizing findings.
Additional responsibilities include managing office supplies, maintaining time and attendance records for staff and board members, and responding to public inquiries.
The position also entails supervising staff, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, budget procedures, and certification requirements. Proficiency in budgeting, auditing, legal principles, investigative techniques, and computer applications is required. Key tasks include developing policies, conducting assessments, and fostering professional relationships. Effective communication, supervisory skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks are essential for success in this dual-role position.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.
Job Duties:
Investigating complaints and possible violations of the Occupational Therapy Board and Athletic Training Board by collecting evidence and background information, and resolving questions by interviewing witnesses, complainants, or other individuals
Monitor and assist staff with work progress by coaching, training, and counseling, and produce reports and document metrics to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress, and activity levels
State statutes and rules, state accounting and budget procedures, office operating procedures, requirements for national certification, open meeting laws, and meeting rules of order
Budgeting, auditing, federal and state laws, rules, regulations, statutes, and policies as they pertain to occupational therapy and athletic training
Answer telephone calls/emails and respond to inquiries from the public and licensees regarding the statutes and rules of the Board
Attend board meetings and provide the board with information regarding license applications that require board review
Preparing a memorandum summarizing findings and drafting correspondence, as appropriate
Receive, review, and process initial and renewal online and paper license applications
Prepare board materials and meeting minutes for each monthly board meeting
Interpret rules and statutes to verify that applications are in compliance
Maintain the time and attendance records for staff and board members
Log license fees, issue receipts, and prepare
