We are currently looking for a Full Time LPD Technical Support Specialist to join our Lighthorse Police Department Administrative Services Team team located at the Lighthorse Police Department - Ada Precinct working 8:00AM-5:00PM - Mo Tu We Th Fr.

Summary:

Responsibilities:

  • It is the responsibility of each employee to attend any training required for their position or profession as determined by their line of support or the executive leadership of the Chickasaw Nation
  • Attend required training as determined by supervisory staff or executive leadership
  • Administer, maintain, and update GIS mapping systems for law enforcement operations, including incident mapping, jurisdictional boundaries, and spatial analysis
  • Manage and support public safety software platforms such as CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch), RMS (Records Management Systems), body-worn camera systems, and license plate reader databases
  • Coordinate technology integration projects with IT, dispatch, and field units to ensure seamless system performance
  • Provide first-line technical support to officers and administrative staff for software, hardware, and mobile data terminals (MDTs)
  • Perform minor installation, programming, and maintenance of portable/mobile radios, repeaters, and antennas as assigned
  • Conduct periodic system audits to ensure compliance with data integrity, FCC regulations, and agency policies
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation, system schematics, user guides, and configuration logs
  • May conduct evaluation of new technologies to optimize network efficiency and performance
  • Troubleshoot and coordinate repairs with vendors for complex technical issues
  • Participate in on-call rotation for technology-related emergencies and critical incidents
  • Provide GIS data support during tactical operations, special events, and emergency management deployments
  • Work collaboratively with investigative, patrol, and tactical units to meet technology needs
  • Work collaboratively with IT, fleet management, and emergency management to ensure system integration
  • Interact independently with federal, state, and local agencies to gather information or support operations
  • Collaborate with command staff and officers to assess system performance and recommend improvements
  • Coordinate with vendors for complex technical support, warranty claims, or specialized repairs
  • Maintain thorough documentation, including schematics, user manuals, service logs, and firmware records
  • Keep current on emerging technologies, encryption protocols, and communication infrastructure advancements
  • Utilizes the Protocol and Style Manual when preparing written and email correspondences
  • Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types
  • Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner
  • Greets and engages with a smile

  • Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities

  • Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.

  • High School, GED or Equivalent
  • Bachelors Degree in directly related field

Essential:

  • A bachelor's Degree is preferred but not required. A high school diploma or GED is required. Minimum of three years of experience in public safety technology, GIS administration, or related IT support. Experience with radio systems is desirable.

Credentials:

  • Pass general background check

  • Certified Geographic Information Systems Professional

Essential:

  • Must be able to pass a complete background investigation. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must have and maintain a clean record with no convictions for felonies or qualifying misdemeanour crimes of domestic violence.
