Overview
Sushi Umi in Glendora, CA are seeking enthusiastic servers for our service in both lunch and dinner shifts.

• 2 to 5 shifts weekly

• $16.50/hour plus tips

• Previous server experience in sushi restaurant preferred but not required

Duties

• Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently.
• Provide recommendations on menu items to enhance the guest experience through effective upselling techniques.
• Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to tables while maintaining high standards of service.
• Assist guests with any inquiries or special requests, ensuring their needs are met promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including resetting tables for new guests.
• Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately, including processing payments efficiently.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless communication regarding orders and special dietary needs.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations while providing exceptional guest services.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Sushi Server is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests.
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and an understanding of kitchen operations is beneficial.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential qualities for success in this role.
