I'm partnering with a highly respected, fully integrated engineering, design, and construction firm to identify an exceptional
MEP Unit Manager
. This role is ideal for a seasoned leader who excels in large, complex projects and thrives in a people-focused, collaborative culture.
With decades of success delivering customized, technically sophisticated solutions across multiple market sectors, this organization continues to grow rapidly—especially in the
Data Center
space. They're looking for an influential MEP leader to help drive project excellence, team development, and customer partnerships.
The Opportunity
In this strategic role, you will guide the planning, design, and execution of major data center projects—ensuring best-in-class performance across scheduling, budgeting, quality, risk management, and customer communication.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading multiple large-scale projects from proposal through delivery
- Owning MEP execution strategies and collaborating closely with Construction, A/E, Field Ops, and MEP Services
- Serving as the primary customer contact for all MEP scope and project matters
- Managing schedules, financial performance, procurement, and change order processes
- Driving proactive risk mitigation and issue resolution
- Mentoring and developing Senior PMs, PMs, APMs, and Engineers
- Maintaining strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal partners
What You'll Bring
We're seeking a proven MEP leader with a strong technical foundation and a demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects successfully.
Ideal qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree
or
10+ years of relevant, progressive experience - 7+ consecutive years managing P&L across multiple projects
- 5+ years leading all disciplines on design-build or hard-bid projects
- Expertise across contracting methods (lump sum, GMP, cost-plus, CM, fee-based)
- A history of improving profitability from baseline estimates
- Strong technical understanding of engineering/design disciplines and associated cost structures
- Experience overseeing process equipment procurement/installation on scopes of $2M+
- Ability to plan aggressive schedules, develop accurate cost estimates, and manage change impact
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
