Core Job Description: Daya is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Controller to be responsible for the comprehensive oversight of agency's financial strategies. This role requires a strategic thinker with a keen understanding of nonprofit operations, financial stewardship, grants management, and organizational growth. The Controller leads Daya's finance team to ensure successful grants billing, accounting, financial reporting, and audits. They will work closely with the Executive Director to plan, direct, and evaluate the overall business/financial operations in a manner that makes the best use of available resources including personnel, technology, time, materials, and money. The Controller will ensure compliance with funding requirements and with the financial data integrity of the grant management system. They will oversee fiscal and financial compliance for the agency including pre and post award reporting. They will lead annual budget creation, provide financial reports, and ensure the financial integrity of the organization.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

· Maintain all financial records in compliance with the requirements of all funding sources and standard accounting principles and practice

· Collaborate with ED, Board, and Program Directors to develop agency, budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, grants, and strategic plans

· Implement robust financial forecasting and analysis models to guide decision-making, identify areas for improvement, and make necessary changes in resource allocation based on trends

· Identify and manage financial risks. Ensure compliance with all financial, legal, and regulatory requirements.

· Lead annual agency financial audit and grant specific audits and monitoring related to financial compliance

· Oversee grants management and ensure compliance with grantor requirements

· Ensure that all financial requirements mandated by funders are reflected in agency policies and are implemented correctly (Including Cost Allocation Plan)

· Prepare financial/budget components of grant applications and reports

· Prepare 1099's. Ensure annual tax returns are completed by the CPA

· Create financial records and reports for Executive Director, Board, and Agency

· Manage all accounts payable and accounts receivable

· Facilitate approved financial requests including travel, mileage, reimbursements
