Summary

Installs, repairs, and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, drawings, operation manuals, and manufacturer specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment using hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a wide spectrum of maintenance activities by installing, repairing, and maintaining machines, mechanical equipment, computer-controlled equipment, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and other manufacturing systems components.
  • Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on equipment and then takes appropriate corrective action to resolve failures and deficiencies.
  • Tests, evaluates, and calibrates equipment, machines and operating systems to verify proper operation.
  • Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to equipment to maintain maximum production and quality.
  • Maintains preventative maintenance programs for all manufacturing equipment in accordance with OEM specifications and develops any additional preventative maintenance procedures deemed necessary to maintain maximum production and quality.
  • Installs electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls, motors, and other electrical devices.
  • Adjusts, repairs, and replaces electrical and electronic components, including controls, switches, relays, etc.
  • Installs and maintains equipment safety devices.
  • Maintains and operates tools to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Fabricates some production ancillary equipment, tables, racking, etc.
  • Initiates purchase orders for replacement parts and components.
  • Maintains up to date equipment manuals and accurate maintenance and repair records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum three (3) years previous experience as maintenance mechanic or related position
  • Ability to read and understand diagrams, drawings, operation manuals, and manufacturer specifications
  • Fully knowledgeable in electrical/electronic systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Demonstrated skills and abilities in use of hand tools, power tools and precision-measuring and testing instruments
  • Ability to proficiently use metal cutting and welding equipment; ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform physical activities including, but not limited to bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, extended reaching, reaching overhead, lifting up to 50 pounds Good organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Availability to work flexible work hours.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.50 per hour
