Project Manager - Commercial Interior Renovations

NYC Boroughs | Full-Time | $120,000-$150,000 base salary + Bonus + Full Benefits

A well-established New York City general contractor is seeking an experienced
Project Manager
to lead commercial interior renovation projects across Manhattan and the surrounding boroughs. This role oversees the full project lifecycle, preconstruction through closeout, for fast-paced tenant improvements, office buildouts, retail renovations, and select institutional projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of commercial interior renovation projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery with strict attention to quality and client standards.
  • Lead procurement, bid leveling, subcontractor selection, and contract negotiation.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, buyout logs, budgets, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and change order documentation.
  • Coordinate daily with field teams and Superintendents to maintain progress, resolve issues, and push work efficiently.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, landlords, and institutional stakeholders.
  • Conduct weekly OAC meetings, oversee design coordination, and proactively manage scope gaps and field conflicts.
  • Monitor costs, forecast budget performance, and approve progress billings and subcontractor requisitions.
  • Lead turnover and closeout efforts, including punchlists, warranty documents, and final submission packages.

Qualifications

  • 3-6+ years of project management experience with a GC or CM.
  • Strong background in
    commercial interior renovations
  • tenant improvements, corporate offices, law firms, retail, amenities, and/or institutional fit-outs.
  • Ability to manage multiple fast-track projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of MEP coordination, design development, and urban jobsite logistics.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and other construction management platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent field experience.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and client-facing skills.
  • OSHA 30 required; SST training preferred.
