The Senior Warehouse Manager oversees all aspects of warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, and team leadership. This role is critical to ensuring efficient, accurate, and safe handling of goods while driving continuous improvement in processes and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and implement best practices for stock control.
- Monitor and optimize inventory levels to meet customer demand and minimize costs.
- Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Identify opportunities for efficiency gains through Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Supervise and mentor warehouse supervisors and staff.
- Plan labor resources to meet operational needs and seasonal fluctuations.
- Utilize WMS/ERP systems to track inventory and generate performance reports.
- Analyze data to improve productivity and reduce operational costs.
- Perform additional duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Required Skills and Attributes:
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with OSHA and other safety regulations.
- Experience in high-volume operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of warehouse or distribution experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies.
Physical Requirements:
- This position may require the ability to perform tasks that involve sitting, standing, walking, lifting 50+ lbs, bending, stooping, computer work, and other physical activities. Candidates should be able to meet these physical demands with or without reasonable accommodations.
