About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Engineering Technician to support and maintain electric forklifts, material-handling equipment, and related ground support systems located on-site at a major aircraft production facility. This role is critical to ensuring uninterrupted operations on the manufacturing floor and maintaining the highest standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on electric forklifts, pallet movers, chargers, and industrial electrical systems.
  • Support engineering teams with equipment testing, performance verification, and system upgrades.
  • Respond to service calls on-site to minimize downtime and maintain operational readiness.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair equipment components including batteries, controllers, wiring, drive motors, sensors, and hydraulic/electrical interfaces.
  • Document service actions, parts usage, and repair recommendations in compliance with facility reporting standards.
  • Ensure all work meets applicable safety, electrical, and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with facility operations, logistics, and engineering staff to improve equipment performance and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree, trade school certification, or equivalent experience in electrical, electromechanical, or industrial equipment repair.
  • Hands-on experience with electric forklifts, industrial vehicles, or electrical power systems preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with DC systems, battery systems, controllers, and wiring schematics.
  • Ability to work independently on a busy production floor environment.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures related to electrical work, lockout/tagout, and industrial equipment.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, logistics, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of CAN bus systems, telemetry, PLCs, or equipment diagnostics tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and electrical schematics.

Work Environment

  • On-site support within a major aircraft manufacturing facility.
  • Fast-paced environment requiring punctuality, professionalism, and adherence to strict safety standards.
  • May require lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working around industrial equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
