General Rigging Estimator – Full-Time Position
We are looking for a skilled General Rigging Estimator to prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for industrial projects ranging in size and complexity. This position works closely with Sales, Business Development, and Operations to define project scope, assemble competitive proposals, and support successful project execution. The Estimator is instrumental in helping secure new work while ensuring estimates align with company safety standards, scheduling expectations, and profitability goals.
Position Responsibilities
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and scope documents to develop detailed estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and indirect costs.
- Produce clear, thorough proposals designed to meet target margins and improve bid success rates.
- Integrate safe work practices and company safety expectations into all estimating activities.
- Coordinate with EHS personnel during the estimating phase to identify potential hazards and support safety planning.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and supporting documentation for leadership review.
- Manage bid schedules to ensure estimates are completed and submitted on time.
Vendor, Client, and Internal Collaboration
- Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors and subcontractors while maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Work closely with Sales and Operations to ensure estimates accurately reflect project requirements and execution strategies.
- Review job cost data with Project Managers and develop pricing for scope changes or change orders.
- Participate in site visits when project conditions or scope changes require in-field assessment.
- Track estimates, sales pipeline activity, and forecasting data to support business planning.
Professional Engagement & Team Support
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support organizational objectives.
- Represent the company professionally with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Assist with additional responsibilities as needed to support customer and project demands.
- Travel as required for project evaluations, bid reviews, and client meetings.
Experience & Background Requirements
- At least four (4) years of experience in industrial construction environments.
- Prior experience in industrial sales, estimating, or client-facing technical roles.
- Demonstrated success developing, managing, and reviewing project budgets.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Proven track record of producing accurate, detailed estimates under deadline pressure.
Education
- Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, technical sales, or a related discipline preferred.
- Equivalent experience in industrial rigging or project estimating will be considered in place of formal education.

Typical Time Distribution

Pay: $110, $120,000.00 per year
