Delivery Driver

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Delivery Driver to join our delivery team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting and setting up mattresses to customers, ensuring timely deliveries, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, experience with commercial vehicles such as box trucks, and the physical ability to handle heavy lifting and moving tasks.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate box trucks to deliver goods to customers
• Load and unload mattresses and adjustable bases
• Ensure accurate loading and securement of items to prevent damage during transit
• Follow designated routes and schedules to meet delivery deadlines
• Provide courteous and professional service to customers upon delivery
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
• Assist with warehouse tasks such as inventory management and stock organization when required
• Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation for each trip
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during operations
• Collaborate with manager and store staff to coordinate deliveries efficiently

Experience

• Prior experience as a delivery driver or courier
• Demonstrated ability to load, unload, and handle heavy items safely
• Experience operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles
• Knowledge of traffic regulations and safe driving practices in various conditions
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively
• Physical capability for heavy lifting, moving, and extended periods of driving
• Valid driver's license suitable for commercial vehicle operation
• Previous experience with load securement tools like load straps or tie-downs is a plus
