Overview
Join our dedicated educational team as an ESS Paraprofessional and become a vital support in creating a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for students with diverse needs. In this role, you will work closely with teachers, specialists, and families to implement individualized education plans (IEPs), foster student growth, and promote positive behavior. Your energetic and compassionate approach will help empower students to reach their full potential in a supportive classroom setting. Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers with lesson planning and implementing instructional activities tailored to students' individual needs, including literacy, math, and early childhood education strategies
- Support students with disabilities, including those with autism or behavioral challenges, by providing personalized assistance and behavior management techniques
- Help create a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior support strategies
- Supervise students during activities, transitions, lunch, recess, and other routines to ensure safety and engagement
- Collaborate with teachers on curriculum development and adapt instructional materials to meet diverse learning styles
- Provide direct support for children in daycare or preschool settings, including toddler care and Montessori-based activities
- Communicate regularly with staff and families to share student progress, challenges, and successes
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings; classroom experience preferred
- Knowledge of special education practices, including working with students with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder
- Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, and math instruction
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with educators, parents, and students
- Understanding of childhood development principles across early childhood education levels
- Experience managing classroom behavior and implementing behavior management strategies
- Ability to work well with diverse populations including preschoolers, toddlers, or students requiring special accommodations
- Certification or training related to special education or early childhood education is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential
